Child-Like Faith

Have you ever been accused of being naïve? What about too forgiving? Too nice? The list could go on. It’s not every day we meet people that love purely and forgive frequently without even needing an apology.

When society meets these people they taunt them or laugh behind their back. “How can they always smile?” society says. “How are they rarely discouraged?” “Why don’t they stay down like most people?”

Society would say that these people don’t know true hurt or pain, and in some cases that may be true, but how does one have childlike faith after being utterly broken by the world?

The bible says in Mark 10:14-15--“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Matthew 18:4--"Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Childlike faith comes through healing. Healing comes through God.

The next time someone calls you naïve, too nice, or too quick to forgive remember that all of these traits are pleasing to God.

Sometimes we may really have to sit back and stare at our “boo-boos” but don’t let anyone or anything hinder you from running and smiling again like a child who takes their first steps. Forget all those people who told you that you couldn’t. Have faith once again; Faith like that of a child who’s never been hurt.

I really love this! I do not think I will every grow out of my child-like faith. Through everything I have been through in my life, I have realized that many have left me but God kept me. He never left me. There were also many times that I did not understand at the time why God was allowing crazy things happen in my life, but I also knew that it was for a perfect reason. Today I never question God's work for I understand every moment is for a greater purpose. This battle is not mine.

Great post Paloma!!

I have to agree with you completely Muzik. I don't think I'll ever grow out of mine either.

At the moments when we're struggling or hurt, its hard for many of us to look beyond that moment. We must keep in mind that God is only preparing us for greater things (as you said <3) and for our purpose within the kingdom. Things will start shifting quickly in our lives when we're receptive and attentive to the spirit. He's without a doubt strengthening us!

Thank you for the awesome comment and sharing your warm spirit.

Just today I told a friend he was "too nice" and now I feel I have to call and apologize to him for making him seem flawed when really it's me. All I did was mirror to him things drilled into me growing up that I never understood. "Green", "naïve", "too open"- all things once spit at me that made me untrusting. I have let others negativity and betrayal harden me and I don't like it. Thankfully, with my God I know I can find my way back to my childlike faith.

That's so awesome that you realize that Jazz! The world tries to harden us so much but God is capable of all things within us. The beauty is that He can restore us over and over again when we are willing. Trust me girl, this world and the people in it have tried so hard to break. A large portion of my life I was truly lost and let my emotions get the best of me. When before I used to want to backfire, I just sit back and know that God will take care of His daughter. Don't let anyone steal your smile or your heart beautiful!!!!
